Adult Retreats
God is faithful and He will be knocking at your heart to open and allow Him entrance. We guarantee that if you come to the weekend with an open mind and heart, you and your family will be blessed. God will give you a new insight into your life with Him and your place in the Christian Community.
Located deep in the valley of the Koolau mountain range, Basic Christian Community of Hawaii (BCCH) offers a two-night retreat for adult men and women led by spiritual directors, the Very Reverend Msgr. Gary Secor of the Diocese of Honolulu, and Sr. Meristella Umdor, a Missionary Sister of Mary Help of Christians. Retreatants come to enjoy the natural beauty of the peaceful location, and the freedom from modern distractions. Since 1985, BCCH has welcomed guests to experience true Christian community, found in song, prayer, witness talks, educational and reflective experiences, and small faith-sharing groups.
All retreat weekends begin on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and will end with a 2 p.m. Mass on Sunday. The weekend officially ends at 3 p.m. with check-out of the dormitory.
Retreat weekends are held at St. Anthony Retreat Center, 3351 Kalihi Street in Honolulu. The driveway entrance is located on the right-hand of Kalihi Street about a block above the last bus stop for the #7 bus. You will find the retreat house all the way to the end of the driveway. Team members will be praying for your safe arrival.
Space is limited and is available on a "first-come-first served basis". Please submit the application as soon as possible. There is no deadline to submit an application for any weekend, however, we won't always be able to guarantee a space if it is right before the weekend. If you are applying during the week of the retreat weekend, please be in contact so we can be sure there will be space available to accommodate you.
We ask for a donation of $100 to cover the cost of the weekend, which includes room and board, all meals, snacks, and writing materials. If there is difficulty in paying in full, arrangements can be made to pay in installments. Please inquire with the person who invited you on retreat, or contact us through the online form.
Starting with a light supper on Friday, meals will be provided through Sunday lunch.
